HOLBROOK — Chief William Smith is pleased to share that the Holbrook Police Department is showing support for those living on the autism spectrum throughout the month of April with a special patch.
April is recognized as Autism Acceptance Month. Throughout April, members of the Holbrook Police Department will be marking Autism Acceptance Month by wearing the special-issue patch meant to raise awareness and show support. Many officers also have the patch displayed in their department vehicles.
Through the end of the month, patches are available to members of the community who donate at least $10 to the department’s fundraiser. Community members who would like to receive a patch can donate at least $10 at the Holbrook Police station, 300 South Franklin St. Cash is preferred.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism.
“We are pleased to be holding this fundraiser and supporting the Flutie Foundation and its work, and would like to thank everyone who has made a donation so far,” Chief Smith said. “The patches remain available through the end of April, and we encourage residents to consider donating to show their support for the autism community.”
