HOLBROOK — Chief William Smith reports that the Holbrook Police Department responded after a large tree fell onto an occupied pickup truck during Monday’s storm.
Just after 11 a.m., Holbrook Police and Fire responded after receiving reports that a large tree had fallen onto the cab and bed of a pickup truck at 3 Maywood Road, trapping the driver inside. The tree was an estimated 2-3 feet in diameter.
Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to free the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle. The driver, a man who was visiting the home, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.
Maywood Road remains closed at this time out of an abundance of caution and to allow for cleanup.
