*UPDATE* Holbrook Police Department Locates Body of Missing Man

Chief William Smith and the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office regret to confirm that the Holbrook Police Department and its mutual aid partners have located the body of a missing man.

Steven O’Connell, age 49, of Holbrook, was last seen on Tuesday, July 11. His body was found by police on the afternoon of Thursday, July 13, in an abandoned building a short distance from his home. The family has been notified.

State Police Homicide detectives assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office joined Holbrook Police at the discovery site. There is no suspicion of foul play at this time.

The Holbrook Police Department wishes to thank the Massachusetts State Police Airwing and the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council (METRO-LEC) for their assistance in the search.

The cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Law enforcement wishes to thank the members of the media who assisted in publicizing the search for Mr. O’Connell. There is no additional information at this time. All additional inquiries should be directed to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office.
