Holbrook Police Department Awarded $2,712 Grant by Commonwealth Security Trust Fund

HOLBROOK — Chief William Smith is pleased to announce that the Holbrook Police Department has been awarded a grant by the Commonwealth Security Trust Fund (CSTF) to be used to purchase additional protective equipment for the department.

The CSTF Grant Program aims to enhance local police and fire departments’ abilities to respond to emergencies, including responses to acts of terrorism.

The grant received by the Holbrook Police Department, in the amount of $2,712.28, will be used to purchase four sets of protective equipment for officers and 10 Bola wrap devices for the department use when responding to calls.

“We are grateful to the Baker-Polito Administration, Commonwealth Security Trust Fund, and Executive Office of Public Safety and Security’s Office of Grants and Research for allocating funds that allow us to further protect our officers in the line of duty,” Chief Smith.

A total of $345,337.95 in funding was distributed between 40 communities. Funding can be used for equipment, technology, training or planning. The grants are administered by the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security’s (EOPSS) Office of Grants & Research (OGR).
