HOLBROOK — Chief William Smith is pleased to announce that the Holbrook Police Department swore in three new officers this week.
On Wednesday, Nov. 3, Officers Alexander Occhipinti, Christos Apostolidis and Jonathan O’Brien were sworn in during a ceremony at Holbrook Town Hall. The new officers were sworn in by Town Clerk Jeanne Tarara.
“We are pleased to officially swear in Officers Occhipinti, Apostolidis and O’Brien to the Holbrook Police Department,” Chief Smith said. “They are extremely capable individuals that I am confident will go above and beyond to serve our community. I would like you all to join me in officially welcoming them to our department.”
Officers Occhipinti, Apostolidis and O’Brien graduated from the Reading Police Academy on Oct. 22 and are currently completing the department’s field training program before being assigned to a shift.
Officer Alexander Occhipinti
Officer Occhipinti is a long-time Holbrook resident having graduated from Holbrook High School in 2013. After high school, he joined the Marine Corps in 2015 and served for four years.
Prior to being hired by the Holbrook Police Department, Officer Occhipinti worked at the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office.
Officer Christos Apostolidis
Officer Apostolidis graduated from Holbrook High School in 2006 before going on to attend the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in 2009.
During his time at the Reading Police Academy, he received two awards, the Defensive Tactics Award and the Leadership Award which he was selected to receive by his peers in the academy.
Officer Apostolidis is married with two children.
Officer Jonathan O’Brien
Following his graduation from Cardinal Spellman High School in 2014, Officer O’Brien attended Bridgewater State University. He graduated in May 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
Officer O’Brien is also EMT-B certified and previously worked for Fallon Ambulance Services.
He resides in Holbrook with his family.
